The SCUFFmaster leather touch-up kit contains 65ml of concentrated dye, which, when diluted with water will colour in all the creases and cracks on a large car or a large furniture suite, or re-colour one base car seat. All our SCUFFMaster colour dyes are mixed to match either the manufacturers original samples or samples sent in by customers. Colours can vary slightly because of the different conditions under which customer’s leather is used and over time the leather may fade. To combat this, the kit contains two 5ml colour toners - by adding tiny amounts of the toner, you can tint the main colour to allow for this fading/discolouring. Leather can also become shiny with use. For this, a 5ml Gloss Enhancer is also included in the kit which can be added to give shine to the finish.
Whatever the leather article to be touched up, we advise that in every case, all the leather is thoroughly cleaned first or else the water-based dye will absorb the dirt and change colour. Use GT12 Intensive Cleaner to clean, then GT11 Leather Conditioner to soften. Clean again with GT12 and wipe with GT14 Solvent Cleaner. Try to remove old colour if leather has previously been recoloured, then clean as above. Stir well and apply dye with sponge, paintpad, mini roller or brush. To spray, filter dye and then dilute with up to 20% water. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly. Leave 24-hours before using seats.
Larger individual bottles of SCUFFmaster leather dyes can be purchased for re-colouring larger areas.
