2011 Season Update
The 2011 season has been very successful but not as good as we hoped, a couple of the cars suffered continual over heating and clutch failures, Richard Dorlins XJ suffered the most, clutch failure and engine damage, so he missed a few races whilst the car was rebuilt.
The team won at Snetterton and Brands Hatch, and Dave's car came second, so 1 and 2, at the Oulton Park meeting, David Bye came first, beating Gail Hill, poor Richard was in the lead but the clutch beat him again.
The last meeting of the season was again at Snetterton, Richards rebuilt [again] car won, David got third and Peter, Richard's father, received the "Driver Of The Day" award for gaining the most forward positions of the day, in other words getting past the most cars in the days races.
Other eventful days included our drivers being invited to Goodwood to drive in classic car races in other peoples classic racing cars, obviously they had to be careful, but they pleased the crowd with competitive driving with one eye on the rev counter and oil pressure guage.
Next year 2012 will see our team compete in the HRDC race series as well, these are for more historic cars, I think it must have been the invite to Goodwood that has inspired them, or perhaps they are just getting older.
I cannot wait to see what car they have planned, whatever it will be, it should be a winner, like Gliptone!
